Ballard City
Nestled in the heart of the Uintah Basin, Ballard City is a rural agricultural community that embodies a strong sense of tradition, independence, and growth. Located at 2381 E 1000 S, Ballard, UT 84066, our city is characterized by a harmonious blend of residential neighborhoods, expansive farmland, and open spaces. Along US Highway 40, you'll find a mix of commercial and industrial enterprises that reflect Ballard’s evolving economy, while the surrounding agricultural fields and undeveloped land maintain the area’s rustic charm. Historically, residents have turned to nearby towns for goods and services, but recent developments have brought local businesses and light industry to our community, marking a new chapter in Ballard’s story.
Ballard maintains close regional connections, relying on partnerships for essential services and infrastructure. The neighboring Ute Tribal Reservation provides water to our community, while Roosevelt City—our western neighbor in Duchesne County—offers additional municipal services, including sanitary sewer management through an inter-local agreement. Ballard also benefits from services provided by Uintah County, especially in public safety and education. Although the city has been shaped by the energy sector’s cyclical nature, which has brought periods of both prosperity and challenge, Ballard remains a resilient and forward-looking community. Our population has begun to grow, and we continue to embrace both our heritage and the opportunities ahead.
