Our journey began with a team of eight entrepreneurs united by a bold vision: to build a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. Since our founding, we have grown to more than 2,800 employees and developed over 210 energy projects worldwide, encompassing wind, solar, natural gas, energy storage, and transmission. The story of Invenergy is deeply rooted in the entrepreneurial spirit of our founder and CEO, Michael Polsky. After immigrating to the United States from Ukraine with a mechanical engineering degree, $500, and four suitcases, Polsky launched his first venture, Indeck Energy Services, in 1985. He went on to establish SkyGen Energy, where he partnered with Jim Murphy, who would become Invenergy’s president and business leader. Together, they assembled a pioneering team and laid the foundation for what has become one of the world’s leading privately held developers and operators of sustainable energy solutions.
