It is a small, member-driven flying club based at West Desert Airpark, dedicated to providing a safe and engaging environment for aviation enthusiasts. Since its founding in 2003 and re-establishment in 2017 by Matthew Kalm, the club has focused on making aviation more accessible through hands-on learning, shared resources, and a strong sense of community.

What began with the completion of a partially built RV-12 has grown into a well-equipped club operating two RANS Raven S-20s and a RANS Courier S-7S. These aircraft support both training and recreational flying, allowing members to pursue their aviation goals affordably and safely. West Desert Aviators continues to foster a spirit of collaboration and passion for flight among all who join.
