The Council on Culture & Arts (COCA), located in Tallahassee, Florida, is the region’s designated local arts agency and a vital non-profit serving as a voice and advocate for the arts and cultural sector in Florida’s capital area. Established in 1985, COCA is the area’s only umbrella agency for arts and culture, supporting those who create, fund, and engage in cultural experiences. While not a government entity, COCA works in close collaboration with city, county, state, and school district partners, offering professional services and strategic guidance to enhance the cultural vitality of the region.
Governed by a diverse board of community leaders with expertise in business, tourism, marketing, and more, COCA ensures inclusive representation and alignment with community needs, rather than the interests of any single arts organization. Its dedicated staff of arts professionals manages a wide range of programs and services that connect residents and visitors to the area's rich cultural offerings. Proud of Tallahassee’s vibrant creative community, COCA continues to celebrate and promote the message that “The Arts Live Here!”
