At First Things First, we recognize that the early years of a child’s life from birth to age five are a critical period for brain development and lay the groundwork for lifelong learning and success. Established by Arizona voters, First Things First is a statewide, voter-initiated organization dedicated to funding early childhood education and health programs that ensure children are ready to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.

Guided by regional councils made up of local community volunteers, we invest in strategies that support the healthy development of Arizona’s youngest children, helping to build a brighter future for individuals, families, and communities across the state.
