Located in Boulder City, Nevada, the Mounted Horse Foundation is committed to preserving and promoting the important role of horses in public service, community engagement, and emergency response. Our mission centers on supporting the long-term care, training, and welfare of both the horses and the volunteers who serve in mounted units. By providing resources, education, and operational assistance, we help ensure these vital partnerships between people and horses remain strong, regardless of shifts in city funding or support. We believe that mounted units not only enhance public safety but also serve as powerful bridges for education, healing, and community connection.
The Foundation was established to provide focused, sustainable support specifically for the needs of Boulder City’s mounted units. Previously managed under the broader Friends of the Boulder City Police Department, the unique requirements of mounted service, especially regarding horse care and operational consistency, required a more tailored approach. With values rooted in respect for horses, service to community, responsible stewardship, and a deep belief in the healing power of the human-horse bond, the Mounted Horse Foundation ensures these partnerships thrive with dignity and professionalism for years to come.
