Our founder, Erick, began his roofing career in high school, learning directly from his uncle, a master roofer, while working as both a laborer and installer. Over the years, he developed a deep understanding of the trade, mastering a wide range of materials and techniques, from membranes and asphalt to wood shake, metal, and tile. Erick’s career path also includes honorable service in the U.S. Army as part of E. Co. 51st Infantry (Airborne), where he deployed overseas and sustained injuries in the line of duty, earning the distinction of a disabled veteran.

Beyond his military service, Erick built a successful career in federal service as a special agent and senior executive, all while continuing to pursue his passion for roofing and construction. With more than 25 years of hands-on experience in both residential and commercial roofing, Erick established Big West Roofing to bridge the gaps he saw in the industry, particularly in quality craftsmanship and genuine customer care. Today, Big West Roofing stands as a trusted name, driven by Erick’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to providing every customer with dependable roofing solutions built to last.
