Celebrating 40 Years of Laughter and Applause!
It all began in 1972 when a quirky group of Furries (Frozen Urban Refugees) came together with one simple goal: to have fun and put on some great plays. And now, four decades later, we’re still at it, and we’re celebrating in style!
Join us for a BIG birthday bash on Saturday, August 11 at the Town Park! It’s going to be a day filled with food, music, and a whole lot of memories.
Whether you’re an old friend, a new face, or someone who’s been involved as an actor, director, musician, dancer, singer, set designer, or even a bartender, this is the celebration for you. If you've ever been part of this community, or if you just love theatre, we want you there! We’re also welcoming new members, so if you’ve been thinking about joining, this is the perfect time!
Back in 1972, Crested Butte was a little slice of paradise. The town was small, rents were low, the streets were dirt, the air was filled with coal dust, dogs roamed free, and a gold ski pass only cost $125. The only thing missing? Live theatre. That’s where we came in!
Since then, more than 240 plays have graced our stage, starting with our very first show, Dark of the Moon, a wild, country-themed song and dance extravaganza set against the stunning backdrop of Crested Butte Mountain. It was a hit, and the rest is history!
We hope you’ll come help us celebrate this amazing milestone and raise a glass to 40 years of creativity, community, and fun!
