With years of experience working with mesquite wood through their furniture design company, they understood its character, beauty and flavor better than anyone. That connection inspired a bold twist on tradition: replace Scottish peat with native mesquite to create something distinctly reflective of the desert they call home.

What followed was a deep dive into classic Scotch-making techniques, floor-malting, and a commitment to craft that could stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s finest whiskies. Stephen first perfected a clean and elegant American single malt in the style of Speyside before giving it a true Southwestern identity with mesquited malt, resulting in their signature Dorado. Today, Whiskey Del Bac continues that tradition of innovation and authenticity, offering spirits that capture the soul of the desert and the craftsmanship behind every bottle.
