Wildseed Farms, Inc. grew from the shared passion and hard work of John and Marilyn Thomas, a couple whose journey began after graduating from Sam Houston State University. Their early years were spent on the family ranch in Eagle Lake, Texas, where John gained hands-on experience growing rice and raising cattle. Inspired by the lessons learned on the land, he later launched American Hydro-Grass in Houston, providing landscaping companies with high-quality hydro grass. When those same companies struggled to find wildflower seeds, John saw an opportunity to cultivate something truly special.

That spark led him back to Eagle Lake in 1981, where he began planting wildflowers that would eventually shape the foundation of Wildseed Farms. Today, the company thrives in Fredericksburg, Texas, celebrating the beauty of native wildflowers and the dedication that started it all. What began as a small, heartfelt idea has blossomed into a vibrant destination and trusted seed supplier known for quality, creativity, and a deep love for the land.
