What's commonly known today as Pike's Peak was originally named "Shining Mountain" by the Ute Indians because of how brightly the sun reflected off the snow. Minutes from the Idyllic town of Woodland Park, Colorado, Shining Mountain is considered a jewel in the Rocky Mountain state. Woodland Park is nestled amongst the pines of the Pike National Forest, and with over 300 days of sunshine, we enjoy comfortable summers and mild winters. Located at nearly 8500 ft above sea level, we're not exactly heaven, but you can see it from here!
