Guided by a vision for a more responsive and locally driven government, the Board recently took a bold step forward by initiating the transition from a statutory form of governance to a Home Rule County Charter. This decision reflects our belief that local voices should shape local decisions and that your input is the most powerful tool in building a stronger, more accountable Douglas County.

This transformative journey began with a public meeting and the adoption of a resolution that launches a thoughtful nine-step process, including a pivotal special election on June 24. Through Live Town Halls and open dialogue, we invite residents to stay informed, ask questions, and share perspectives.
