Cork Tree Creative Announces Brandi Spann As New Spring Intern
Edwardsville-based marketing firm Cork Tree Creative Inc. recently welcomed Brandi Spann as its spring intern.Spann is a graduate student studying literature at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She serves as president of Sigma Tau Delta — the English honor society — and works as the opinion editor at the student newspaper, The Alestle. Spann will be exposed to all aspects of marketing through Cork Tree’s range of services, and says that she is looking forward to harnessing the skills she learns to connect with Cork Tree’s partners.
Originally from Springfield, IL, she further shares that she was drawn to this internship because she wanted to get to know the surrounding community by engaging with local businesses. Her love for communication, storytelling, and working directly with people is a result of her involvement at her university and beyond.
In her previous position as an editor for the student literary magazine, the River Bluff Review, her experiences in SIUE’s honors program, and her semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland, Spann has found fulfillment in using language to uplift writers and her peers. She is familiar with social media marketing, blog writing, editing, and leadership, and she is grateful to work with Cork Tree’s team firsthand to sharpen these practices.
“Our interns experience an immersive environment working side-by-side with our team of professionals. We’re glad to have Brandi join us this spring. Her enthusiasm will make her a great addition to our team,” said Cork Tree’s creative director and co-founder Jan Carpenter.
