Busey Bank Issues Scam Warning

Scammers continue impersonating Busey Bank associates, even "spoofing" legitimate Busey phone numbers to appear as if they are calling you from Busey Bank. These scammers may try to create a false sense of urgency. They may tell you that fraud has been detected on your account, request personal information to verify your account, try to log into your account, or even ask you for account details to process a transaction, such as an ACH transaction or a wire transfer.

 

Do not provide your account numbers, passwords, verification codes or personal details to anyone who calls you claiming to be with Busey.

 

Please be assured that Busey will never call you and ask for your account number, password, verification codes (including two-factor authentication codes), or any other sensitive information. Busey will also never call and ask you to transfer funds as part of any verification process.

 

If you are contacted by someone claiming to be Busey, we encourage you to say, "I need to call my Relationship Manager." If the call is legitimately from Busey, our team will fully understand and be happy to wait. When calling Busey, do not "call back" the number that contacted you. Instead, always dial your relationship manager's personal line, or call Busey Bank's official phone number directly at 1-800-67BUSEY.
