Illinois Secretary of State's Mobile DMV Offerd at R.P. Lumber Center April 9

The City of Edwardsville and the Illinois Secretary of State are teaming up to offer a Mobile DMV service from 10AM-2PM Wednesday, April 9 at the R.P. Lumber Center.

The Mobile DMV is part of an initiative through the Illinois Secretary of State's office to provide basic Illinois Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) services, including REAL IDs, at easily accessible community sites.

"We are happy to host the Mobile DMV's return to Edwardsville, offering an additional way to access Illinois Secretary of State services, said Mayor Art Risavy.

The Mobile DMV will operate from 10AM-2PM in the R.P. Lumber Center's community rooms (6289 Tiger Drive in Edwardsville), and appointments are not necessary. Services offered include: The REAL ID service is especially timely due to the May 7, 2025 deadline to obtain a federally accepted form of identification, such as REAL ID, to board a domestic flight or enter a secure federal building. Additional forms of federally accepted IDs can be used after May 7 in lieu of the REAL ID, such as a valid U.S. passport.

Acceptale forms of payment for Mobile DMV services include credit and debit cards, personal checks, and money orders. The Mobile DMV will not offer written or road exams. A full list of documents needed for various DMV services can be found HERE.
