Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero Announces 2026 Re-election Campaign LaunchToday, supported by family, friends and colleagues, Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero officially launched her re-election campaign. An accomplished and proven leader who has dedicated more than 30 years of public service to the city, Romero has helped champion significant development projects, and policy changes. The city has opened a Crime Scene Investigation center, a new West Henderson Police substation, renovated existing fire stations and opened new ones. The city is now a charter school authority and is moving forward with selecting potential charter schools to offer more educational options for Henderson families. These efforts, among others, have taken the city to the next level.“I am excited to launch my re-election campaign,” Romero stated. “It has been an honor and privilege to represent our residents and businesses not only on a local level, but on a national stage. “My commitment remains unwavering: to enhance our quality of life by prioritizing public safety, delivering quality education, and ensuring accountability, transparency and sustainability. I will continue working to keep our neighborhoods safe, ensure our police and fire departments receive our steadfast support, and foster an environment where businesses thrive. I will also work tirelessly to maintain our public trust and ensure city services are delivered quickly and responsibly.” Throughout her tenure in public service, Romero’s goal has remained the same – to make Henderson a premier place to live, work, raise a family and retire. She has earned early endorsements from the Henderson Chamber of Commerce (HCC) Issues Mobilization Political (IMPAC) and the Henderson Professional Fire Fighters. Action Committee Chuck Mohler, IMPAC chair stated, “We are proud to endorse Mayor Romero in her reelection campaign. Mayor Romero has consistently been a staunch advocate for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and our members. Under her leadership, the City of Henderson was recently awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. This presidential recognition is a testament to unwavering commitment to residents and excellence in leadership, strategy, operations, workforce, customer focus, community engagement, and financial performance.
