Colusa County Chamber Strengthens Local Business Voice Through Advocacy Academy and New Government Affairs Council

Colusa, CA — The Colusa County Chamber of Commerce recently participated in the CalChamber Advocacy Academy, a six-session program bringing together chamber professionals from across California for in-depth training on legislative engagement and public policy. The Academy provided tools, insights, and best practices to help local chambers become effective advocates for the business community on critical issues at the local, state, and federal levels.
Building on this experience, the Colusa County Chamber is establishing the Chamber Government Affairs Council (CGAC) — a new initiative designed to ensure that Colusa County businesses have a strong, unified voice in shaping public policy. The Council will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, identify issues that affect local employers, and help guide the Chamber's advocacy priorities.
“Advocacy is a critical part of the Chamber's mission,” said Jack Cunningham, President/CEO of the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce. “Our businesses deserve representation on the issues that directly affect their ability to thrive. Through the Government Affairs Council, we're creating a platform for local business voices to be heard and to help shape decisions that impact our future.”
Participation in the Council is open to all Colusa County Chamber members interested in strengthening our region's business climate and economic vitality. Members can contact the Chamber at (530) 458-5525 or CGAC@colusachamber.org for more information or to be included in upcoming meetings.
